MMA star Jiri Prochazka and sports shooter Eric Grauffel lead CZ's new campaign for responsible and safe firearms ownership.
Both Jiri and Eric have reached the pinnacle of their respective disciplines through focus, mental and physical resilience, and intense discipline and training.
These qualities are also directly applicable to firearms users, including members of the armed forces, sportsman and women, target shooters, or those who carry for personal protection.
Owning a firearm carries a significant responsibility. Let's remember two essential aspects of this responsibility: respect and skill. Respect for the firearm, our surroundings, and life itself. And skill – the commitment to training, visiting the range, and mastering firearm handling.

“Respect and responsibility have been central to my fighting career and my entire life. That’s why I enjoy recreational shooting, where these qualities are crucial. I often shoot CZ sport pistols, so I’m thrilled to bring something of myself – respect, focus, and both mental and physical resilience – to this project.”

RULE 01.
Always treat every gun as loaded!
It means you never assume a gun is unloaded just because you left it that way or because someone told you it’s not loaded. It is your responsibility to check for yourself. Watch the video where Eric shows you the right way how to do it!

RULE 02.
Always point your gun in a safe direction!
Whenever you handle a firearm, you must be aware of where you are pointing the muzzle. Imagine there is a laser beam coming from the barrel, and anything it touches could be destroyed. It is your responsibility to handle the gun safely. Watch the video where Eric shows you how to do it.

RULE 03.
Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot!
Avoid placing your finger near the trigger when you handle a firearm. The main reason is to prevent accidental trigger presses, as sudden movements, distractions, or unexpected contact with objects could cause the trigger to be pulled unintentionally.

RULE 04.
Identify what is your target and what is behind it!
You first must be certain the target is safe to shoot at. Consider its placement, material, and condition. For example, safe distances must be maintained from steel targets due to the risk of ricochets causing injuries. If your target is made of paper, you must know what lies behind it to avoid damage from bullets passing through.

RULE 05.
Be responsible!
Being responsible means considering the possible risks of your actions. Never consume alcoholic beverages or drugs before or during shooting, always wear safety glasses and ear protection while shooting, and always be aware of your surroundings.

RULE 06.
Know your firearm's safety features!
All firearms are equipped with safety features such as safety levers, trigger safeties, decocking levers, etc. Some may look and operate very similarly, while others can be quite specific. It is your responsibility to learn how to handle your firearm safely. You need to learn the function of all the controls your firearm is equipped with.

RULE 07.
Follow proper safety procedures in the event of a misfire!
It means that if your firearm fails to fire, you must always keep the muzzle pointed toward the target or in a safe direction and wait 30 seconds. If the round does not fire, remove the magazine, eject the round, and examine the primer. If the firing pin indent on the primer is light, off-center, or non-existent, have the pistol examined by a competent gunsmith.

RULE 08.
Store your firearms safely!
Your responsibility
You are responsible for your firearm even when you are not near it. That is why it is crucial to store your firearms safely. To ensure no one gets hurt, you must always be aware of where your firearm is and store it unloaded in a locked gun safe, out of reach and sight of children and untrained individuals.
