How and at what age did you start with sport shooting and competing in individual disciplines?
I've been shooting game since I was really young. I grew up at a gamekeeper’s lodge, where shooting was a daily routine. When I was in high school, I was shooting at running targets with an air rifle and rimfire rifle. In 2006, I started with the L4K and K4M disciplines. In 2008, I added combined disciplines and participated in the European Championship in combined game shooting for the first time. In the years that followed, I started actively participating in the World Championship in hunting rifle shooting up to 400 m.

What do you like best about shooting?
It's a relaxing activity after work, calms my mind, improves gun handling and self-control, and is an activity where I can meet friends.

Why did you choose CZ?
CZ guns are very reliable. I’m a patriot and pleased when I can take a peek into their development.

How and why did you join the CZ Shooting Team?
I am probably on the CZ team because of my results using CZ guns. I've been working with CZ representatives in the marketing and development departments since about 2010. I've been on the CZ Shooting Team since 2017.

How do you prepare for a competition?
My preparation is both physical and mental. The physical part is “dry” training or shooting at the shooting range, sighting-in my weapon, verification of ballistics at various distances, etc. It's time consuming and means traveling to the nearest 300 m shooting range, which means I can’t spend as much time doing it as I would like. All of this preparation is mostly right before a competition.

The mental part is about calming my mind, clearing my thoughts, concentrating, finding motivation for elite performances, adjusting biorhythms, reducing my heartbeat and being able to pull the trigger at the right moment. I carry out this mental training whenever I can find the time.

What is the best advice you were ever given?
Always visualize the path of the shot and where you are sending it...

What is your biggest success in the competition shooting?
There are several achievements that I consider my greatest. Can I brag a little now?
When I scored 800 out of 800 points for the first time at the National K4M Championship. The second time was great too, but the first one was more special :-) So far, nobody else has achieved this score at the National Championship.
When I scored 200 out of 200 points with a rifle in the hunting combined event at the National Championship for the first time. Just like with the small bore rifle, achieving it for the first time was something special.
When I won the rifle competition at the European Championship for the first time. This year, I achieved my fifth first place in the rifle competition.
When I had my first shoot off at 300 meters, shooting offhand at a 20 cm gong, and managed to hit it on my first attempt. Every time I won the overall rifle competition series for the entire season. So far, nobody else has won the series. When I performed well at the World Championship and had the highest score on some days...
When I competed with a new CZ firearm for the first time and thought to myself, “Now I need a perfect score,” and managed to do it...
Basically, every time there was something important at stake and I managed to deliver.
It is a great feeling, but also a commitment and a reminder that I still cannot ease up...

How would you rate your weapon? (Handling, Accuracy, etc.)
 Right now, I primarily use the CZ 600 RANGE in 6mm Creedmoor and the CZ 600 RANGE in .223 Rem.
It took a little longer to get familiar with them at first, including the magazine, stock and ammunition selection. But now we know each other perfectly, and I can say that they are absolutely reliable, ergonomically well balanced for all the shooting positions we use, and extremely accurate.
I am proud that a Czech production rifle can outperform purpose built competition rifles assembled from some of the best components available in the world.
