CZ presents the CZ 457 TARGET

A precisely designed tool for competing at the highest level of target shooting

Ceska zbrojovka (CZ) introduces the CZ 457 TARGET, a new competition-grade rimfire rifle specifically designed for use in ISSF 3-position shooting disciplines. This model expands the successful CZ 457 family with a top-of-the-line target rifle that builds on the long tradition of CZ rimfire rifle accuracy and takes adjustability, ergonomics, and shooting consistency to a new level.

The CZ 457 TARGET is being presented to the professional public for the first time at SHOT Show 2026 in Las Vegas, where it is currently making its professional worldwide debut.

CZ 457 rimfire rifles have long been recognized for their exceptional accuracy and reliability. In recent years, sport shooters have relied on the entire range of target models with MATCH chambers from this platform, which consistently helps shooters achieve success in domestic and international competitions. The CZ 457 TARGET further builds on these results and meets specific shooting requirements in accordance with ISSF rules, where absolute accuracy, stability, and customized adjustment of the rifle to each shooter’s preferences play a key role.

The CZ 457 TARGET is built on a fully adjustable chassis made of lightweight aluminum alloy, which was developed in collaboration with Olympic champion and CZ brand ambassador Matthew Emmons. Thanks to its extensive adjustment options, the rifle can be precisely customized to the shooter’s build, age, and level of experience. Among other things, the grip, cheekpiece, buttpad, and forend riser are adjustable in multiple axes without compromising stability and comfort.

This new model is equipped with a 26-inch cold hammer forged heavy MATCH barrel with a target crown, designed with an emphasis on delivering maximum consistency in shot placement. The barrel comes with a diffuser for mounting target accessories on its 11 mm dovetail. The CZ 457 TARGET offers guaranteed accuracy of 12 mm at 50 meters within a ten-shot group (measured center-to-center), which meets the demands of top-level sport shooting competitions.

Another significant innovation is the Flyweight trigger mechanism, which allows for very fine and detailed adjustment of individual trigger parameters, including travel, pull weight, overtravel, and blade positioning. The trigger system is backward compatible with other models in the CZ 457 series and has been further optimized by modifying the firing pin for even smoother operation.

Despite a number of new features, the heart of the firearm remains the proven action on the CZ 457 platform, which is known for its smooth operation and high reliability. The CZ 457 TARGET is designed as a single-shot according to ISSF rules and is equipped with a straight extended bolt handle for quick and smooth handling in all shooting positions.
